With the 2016 Olympics well underway, let’s take a look at the Summer Games dating back to the year 2000 to see how countries have performed in different event categories.
The Stride travel site has collected all the numbers, then aggregated the medals won and sorted them into eight different categories, ranking the top five countries within each grouping. The rankings were based on participating countries’ total medal counts from each event.
